Posada and Christmas
Posada originates from Mexico where people dress as Mary and Joseph and travel from house to house telling people of the birth of Jesus and asking for room.
The idea has been used successfully by many parishes, by sending a crib with the figures of Mary, Joseph and Jesus from house to house during Advent. On Christmas Eve the crib comes to Church and all are invited to gather round the Holy Family for worship.
Posada is a wonderful, unthreatening way to take the message of Christmas to schools or to families who may not be regular church attenders.
