Access surveys
The physical accessibility of churches in the diocese was the subject of a survey of a survey by the DAC between June and October 2005. The information provided by churchwardens in response to the survey has been collated into two reports.

Can I get in through the door? has information about car parking, pathway surfaces and other aspects of the approach and entrance to a church building.

Will I be able to join in? has information about provision of hearing loops, large print books, level access to the communion rail and other aspects of participation in church events and services.

Organising accessible church events
The Diocesan Equal Opportunities Committee has produced a checklist for organisers of events to help ensure that church events are as accessible to as many people as possible.

See also the Welcoming church page of this website for details of church services for deaf people.
