Peterborough Diocesan Synod is looking at how a target of 25% of ordinands
under the age of 30, by 2010, might be achieved. See Synod News September 2007.
Under the chairmanship of Bishop Frank a Young Vocations Team has been set up to look at ways of encouraging more young people to consider training for the priesthood.
Julie Hutchinson, Director of Ordinands and Vocations, said, “we rejoice in the wealth of experience older people bring to ministry, but at the same time we need to connect with the younger generation.”
Six younger people from the diocese are currently in training for ordained ministry (see below).

Julia Baldwin
Aged 26, Julie is training at Ripon College Cuddesdon. She was a secondary school teacher in Peterborough before she began her training. She first started to explore her vocation whilst at University in Durham. See page 6 of Vocation Voices, Summer 2007. |

Victoria Mellor
Aged 27, Victoria is training at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. Her family home is at Blisworth but she was teaching and attending church in Manchester before she began her training. She was on placement at Grange Park in Northampton. |

Paul Frost, from Moulton, is aged 32. He is training at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. He is married to Karen and they have two sons. |

Marcus Purnell, from Northborough, is aged 32. He is training at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. He is married to Jane and they have three small sons. |

Peter Leech
Peter Leech, aged 34, hopes to begin full-time theological training in September 08 at St John's College Nottingham. He is married to Paula-Marie and they have four young children. At present he is the Children's and families Minister at Christ the King, Kettering. |

Catherine Dobson, from Broughton, is aged 36, is on the Eastern Region Ministry Course. She is married to Steve and they have two children. From St Andrew's Broughton.
