Youth Mental Health First Aid NOW FULL

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an educational course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help a young person (8-18 years old) who may be developing a mental health issue.  In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognize those crucial warning signs of mental ill health.

Topics covered include:

What is mental health?

Depression and anxiety

Suicide and psychosis

Self-harm and eating disorders

The course will give an understanding around the issues that relate to young people's mental health and teach practical skills including the ability to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health issues.

Research show that taking part in such a course

Raises awareness and mental health literacy

Reduces stigma around mental ill health

Boosts knowledge and confidence in dealing with issues

Promotes early intervention which enables recovery

Includes a copy of the Youth Mental Health First Aid Schools and Colleges manual - an excellent reference and support resource.
