Understanding Judaism

This RE Network will focus on further developing teacher's knowledge and understanding about some of the key concepts in Judaism such as God, Covenant, Law and Tradition.

We will explore how concepts such as these translate practically into Jewish family life in modern Britain today.

Jo Elijah-Sigston, a local practising Jewish person, and experienced teacher of Judaism, has taught about all aspects of Judaism and Hebrew at Synagogue Religion schools for over 25 years.  During this time she has also visited and worked with many local schools.  Jo has also presented at several Teacher Training workshops, acted as a Consultant and helped to produce a booklet on Jewish artefacts.  She will talk about her own beliefs and family life and will use artefacts to give a practical demonstration of beliefs in practice.

This course is open to all schools and academies and is suitable for RE Subject Leaders and teachers of RE.
