Northampton West: Pioneer

The Diocese of Peterborough has been awarded funding from the Church Commissioners to engage with the new build communities in west Northampton, with the expectation of initiating a sustainable Fresh Expression for those outside of inherited church.

We seek a person with a passion for pioneer church work who will:
• start a Fresh Expression congregation in the new build areas of Northampton West
• build a team around the vision
• draw people into a living faith in Jesus
• disciple those who come to faith
• work with the management group, to monitor, evaluate and share the lessons learnt from the project

Full stipend or salary equivalent, housing available, funding for the post is initially for 5 years; open to ordained or lay.

Priest in Charge, All Saints’ Earls Barton
“A thriving church at the heart of its community”

From a sound traditional foundation, the PCC has a vision that the church will continue to grow into an energetic, vibrant church family which reaches out into the community in care, prayer and action. The large “village” of Earls Barton (pop. 6000) lies between Northampton and Wellingborough overlooking the picturesque Nene valley. We seek a man or woman with a collaborative leadership style and with energy, commitment, humility and humour, who will work and grow with the Leadership Team and PCC to:
• develop a more contemporary style of worship within a liturgical framework
• inspire children, young people and families, engaging and involving them in the life of the church
• enable people to come to, and grow in, faith by providing a rich variety of activities, groups and worship

Kingsthorpe: Priest in Charge (Team Rector Designate)

We seek a priest to lead, support and encourage this established Team of four churches with three church buildings in fulfilling Christ’s mission. Kingsthorpe, once a village, is now part of the Borough of Northampton and includes a wide variety of housing with a population of 23,000. Working with a Team Vicar, the Chaplain to the Deaf, three Readers and four Lay Pastoral Ministers, and supported by a Team Office, we are looking for a person of prayer who will
• support ordained and lay ministers in working together more flexibly across
the benefice so that their gifts may be encouraged and used effectively
• value and develop exciting and varied styles of worship
• develop a vision for outreach, especially to children and youth
• value and support the integration of St Mark’s Deaf Church into the Team, willing to explore ways of communicating with Deaf people
