Safeguarding Children in our Church - a training session which can be delivered by you, to your church
Safeguarding Children in our Church is a ready made training package using PowerPoint slides. It is designed to be presented locally by parish churches in a 2 to 2½ hour session. The aim of the session is to provide an introduction to safeguarding children and those who pose a risk to them. It has been designed for PCC members, children’s workers and any other parish church congregation members in positions of trust.
Here's what you can expect to learn:
• to know that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and integral to being a church
• to have a better understanding of good safeguarding practice within the Church of England
• to know when to have concerns about the safety and welfare of a child or vulnerable adult in your church
• to recognise potential blocks within the church to responding well
• to appreciate your responsibility for sharing concerns about a child or vulnerable adult
• to be aware of who in the church to go to with any concerns.
