Training opportunities

Undertaking training to work with children is the best way to ensure high standards and to maintain enthusiasm. These are the key training opportunities offered by the Diocese:
 

The Certificate in Children’s Ministry

“I have never had so much fun learning in my life!"

From a Certificate in Children's Ministry student

This one-year course is open to all who work with children. On successful completion of the training, students receive accreditation in the form of a certificate signed by the Bishop, presented by their parish priest.

 

CORE Skills modules

CORE Skills for Children’s Work is a six week module that covers child development, leadership skills, programme planning, children and community, pastoral awareness, and spirituality and the Bible. The next module starts on Tuesday 13th September 2016 and runs for 6 Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm at Bouverie Court, Northampton, NN4 7YD.

More CORE Skills for Children's Work covers transitions, special needs, challenging behaviour, the global dimension, children’s advocacy and junior leaders.

CORE Skills for Family Ministry A brand-new 6 week course on working well with families to help them grow in faith and well-being.
