Prayers for Bungoma Diocese:
Please note that the prayer requests from parishes in our link Diocese of Bungoma were received before the recent political unrest in Kenya. The circumstances of some parishes may have changed as a result. Please continue to pray for the country during this difficult time.
Sunday 1 June
Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth; send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you. Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ’s sake, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

We pray for those working and living in the poorest communities and ask for resilience and safety as well as adequate resources.
We pray for the 3.8 million children living in poverty in Britain; let us not forget them.
We pray for just laws and policy that help to lift people out of poverty.
We pray for those who today feel isolated, with no one to turn to for help. Show us how we can be part of your answer.
Help us not to forget those who are marginalised in our communities, those we often choose to overlook or ignore. Open our eyes Lord.
We pray for a compassionate society where we all remember and consider each other. Amen

Lord Jesus, you knew what it was to be a refugee when your parents fled from Herod.
You knew what it was to be homeless, no where to lay your head.
You knew what it was to be friendless; those you loved betrayed you.
You knew what it was to be utterly derelict;
you cried from the cross.
What ever we suffer,
you have been there first.
Forgive us for doubting you and give us the strength to go on.
