Sam Higgins

Hello there, I’m Sam, the Youth Mission Enabler for Peterborough Deanery based at Peterborough Cathedral. I’m passionate about seeing young people grow in confidence in themselves, who God is, and who He calls them to be. I love getting creative with media – videography, photography, social media and exploring the great outdoors! God calls each one of us by name, and calls us to reach out to those around us sharing the Gospel – the Good News! “For you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

I’m passionate about working with young people and introducing them to Jesus through groups/activities, schools work, faith in families and detached work. I’m interested in meeting new people/parishes in the Wellingborough Deanery and working with them to start/support youth ministry in their contexts. I also have a heart for improving inclusivity for young people with additional needs. I enjoy reading, going on walks with my family, writing poetry and watching a good Netflix series! I believe Jesus is our ‘lighthouse to the nations’ and calls all of us, through him, to ‘make a start at bringing people into the open, into light.’ (Isaiah 42:6 MSG)
