House for Duty Priest of the Living Brook Benefice

Jesus said: ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water’.      John 7.38

Living Brook’s vision is to share those rivers of living water with all our communities, that all may be transformed by the love of Jesus.  We are looking forward to welcoming a colleague who will have particular responsibility for the rural part of the benefice including the churches of Quinton and Piddington and a CEVA Primary School.  The Rector will continue to provide hands on leadership at the third church in the benefice, Hardingstone while taking on the additional role of priest in charge of a neighbouring urban parish.

This is a House for Duty post, working two days per week plus Sundays.  The associate priest will be delegated the freedom to exercise the ministry of an incumbent in the two rural parishes.

The new associate priest will:

  • be committed to a life of prayer, with time for personal renewal and refreshment
  • understand the needs and challenges of rural churches
  • aim to grow the churches – welcoming children and young people into the church family
  • lead worship, teach and preach accessibly, and enable lay members to share leadership in worship
  • enjoy being part of the benefice ministry team
  • visit those needing pastoral care and encourage lay volunteers
  • offer occasional offices
  • engage with the church school
  • chair the two PCCs and APCMs
  • take part in community events, and develop the relationship with the Baptist church
