Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser

If you have a depth and breadth of experience in safeguarding, then this may be the job for you. This is a really exciting opportunity to work within a safeguarding role for the Diocese of Peterborough. We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Safeguarding team as an Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser (DSA).

The Diocese of Peterborough covers about 1200 square miles and includes the northern part of Peterborough, the whole of Northamptonshire and Rutland. Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and as part of our on-going commitment towards making Churches a ‘safe space’ for everyone, this role helps to provide the right support for our parishes to embed safeguarding in our Church communities.

Churches within our Diocese are actively engaged in children’s and youth work and also developing activities for vulnerable adults and other groups. Safeguarding is a vital part of the Church’s Mission and the DSA team is at the heart of this.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have professional experience of safeguarding in the voluntary or statutory sector
  • Have proven investigative capability
  • The skills needed to confidently manage allegations of a safeguarding nature
  • Ability to give clear, robust safeguarding advice to parishes
  • Are highly organised, able to work with accuracy to deadlines and be resilient in a challenging environment

This is a full time role and will be based in Peterborough. You will be required to work some weekends and in the evening. You must be able to drive and have access to a car.

Commercial Director at Peterborough Cathedral

Can you demonstrate entrepreneurial skill, with a proven track record of achieving results, yet understand and support the Cathedral's Christian ethos and vision?

If so, you may be the person we are looking for as our new Commerical Director. You will need strong commercial negotiation skills and experience of managing and leading a team to achieve multiple objectives. You will also have experience and understanding of working in partnership with a wide range of different stakeholders.

Your employment by the Chapter will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. It will also be essential for you to co-operate fully with the application process to obtain future DBS checks, as and when required. Your ongoing employment in your role will be subject to the content of the DBS check, when it is received, being satisfactory to the Chapter.

Director of Music at the Priory Church of Deeping St James

We are looking for an organist and choir trainer to work in a church with an established choral tradition.
We have a fine, well-maintained three manual pipe organ.
Our regular robed choir is affiliated to the RSCM and consists mostly of adults, with an embryonic junior choir in training, which we wish to develop.

We enjoy a wide range of church music, with services at 10.00am weekly and a monthly choral evensong. There are occasional special services as well as approximately 8 – 10 weddings per year plus funerals.
The Priory Church is situated 8 miles north of Peterborough (PE6 8NP)

To commence as soon as possible. Salary commensurate with experience, plus fees.
