Priest in Charge of St Jude’s, Peterborough

House for Duty with Potential for Stipend

A priest with vision, energy and excellent people skills is sought to lead this large suburban parish in west Peterborough (population c 9,000) with a liberal catholic tradition and which is ready for a pastoral and missional reboot, following a vacancy that has straddled the pandemic lockdowns.

Whilst initially a House for Duty post, it is hoped that the successful candidate will grow the church to an extent that will justify and underwrite the payment of a stipend or part-stipend, making the post ideal for candidates with other interests or responsibilities which might become flexible in due course.  Newly refitted vicarage provided.

We are looking for:

  • A joy-filled teacher with spiritual depth, who can enable us to grow in our faith and equip us for sharing it with the wider community

  • A caring pastor and excellent communicator, able to relate to all ages and to facilitate and encourage the development of the gifts of others

  • A missional priest with a heart for refreshing the church in new ways of worship, service and witness
