Vicar of Werrington

Sharing Jesus, the centre of our world: full of life, full of love, full of hope

A servant-hearted, collaborative, charismatic evangelical missional leader, rooted in their relationship with the living God, is sought for this parish (population 17,000, ASA 200 including children) on the northern edge of the city of Peterborough:

  • Large staff team including Associate Vicar, MSE associate, two retired clergy, youth minister, seven Readers, Lay Pastoral Minister, parish administrator and four community workers

  • Reordered parish church and church owned halls and community facilities in original village hub in south of parish, and dual use church primary school housing second congregation and parish offices in newer housing development in north of parish

  • The parish’s areas of focus are: children & young people; discipleship; evangelism, community and outreach; prayer; worship

  • Strong links with all the schools in the parish (three primary and one secondary)

You will be:

  • A godly person of prayer who submits to the authority of Scripture, and who will lead with integrity and wisdom in the power of the Holy Spirit

  • A minister with a heart for making and growing disciples and communicating the gospel, and will help us refine and bring to life our vision to be a welcoming, vibrant and loving church community, growing as the family of God to love, serve, share and be like Jesus

  • Able to discern things consistent with our vision, and things that are not, and to help us make wise decisions regarding future possibilities, including the right use of technology & social media
