· To what extent is our thinking about the curriculum ‘Deeply Christian, Serving the Common Good’?

· The findings from some schools about how curriculum revision has reignited a love of subjects

· Why every child should have the chance to engage with demanding and interesting work

· How we can make sure that our vision and Christian ethos match our practice in the classroom

Mary Myatt is an education adviser, writer and speaker.  She trained as an RE teacher and has also taught English, History, Maths and Latin.  A former local authority adviser and inspector, she works in schools talking to pupils, teachers and leaders about learning, leadership and the curriculum.  Mary has done extensive work across dioceses and in schools with a religious character.  With her colleague Jane Brooke, she set up the RE Quality Mark to recognize high quality provision and outcomes in religious education.  She maintains that there are no quick fixes and that great outcomes for pupils are not achieved through tick boxes. Her latest books are ‘Curriculum: Gallimaufry to Coherence’, ‘Hopeful Schools: Building humane communities’ and ‘High Challenge, Low Threat’.
