Music in Lyddington presents Passacaglia Baroque Ensemble

‘They have played together for many years now and there is an effortlessness about the sound no matter which combination of instruments is involved, there is never a sense of one striving to take the lead: rather the voices balance one another... finely crafted performances from a star line-up’.

Gen2 Children's Ministry Certificate 2019/20 Taster Evening

An informal and friendly introduction evening to the Peterborough Diocese Gen2 Children's Ministry Certificate Course (CMC).

For Church children’s workers and volunteers to develop in skills, training and practice.

The year-long course will focus on good practice within the church walls and what it looks like beyond. The expectation for the students is that they will be commended by their PCCs, and encouraged to try out some of their course learning in their churches and surrounding communities.

  • Meeting every 2nd Tuesday of the month from September 2019 – July 2020, Bouverie Court, 7-9pm, with an option of sharing a meal together from 6:30pm.
  • Sharing learning in small groups, once a month
  • At least two visits to some good children’s practice venues
  • Two Saturdays on how to navigate the Bible
  • Feeding back on tasks in small groups, or in a 1 to 1 setting

Come along to get a taster, meet the team and find out if this course can help you and your church to grow and develop your ministry with children and their families.

We recommend that you come along to this taster evening with a friend from your church who may also be interested in the course, and (if possible) your minister, so that they can see what you will be undertaking.

A 9 day Pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine

Following in the Footsteps of Jesus led by The Rt Revd Donald Allister

A pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a very special experience. My testimony, shared by many who have travelled with me before, is it that the bible comes to life in remarkable ways. In addition, today’s situation in Israel and Palestine, inseparable from the very complex history, is seen and experienced quite starkly.
We will have opportunities to meet, listen and talk to ordinary people as well as community and other leaders.

The pilgrimage is open to all. However, please bear three things in mind: first, we will be worshipping as Christians each day; second, a reasonable degree of fitness is needed, as we will have to do quite a bit of walking, including up hills and steps and on uneven rocky ground; third, although we will eat well with lovely Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, and the restaurants we use are very helpful and hospitable, it may not always be possible to meet every dietary requirement in the way you might be used to.

This won’t be a holiday, though it may well refresh those parts that holidays can’t reach.  It will be stimulating, deeply moving, perhaps emotionally exhausting. You will almost certainly be changed.

I hope you can join us.

+Donald

The Wandering Minstrels sing Gilbert & Sullivan

A welcome return from The Wandering Minstrels whose superb singing & acting brings the songs and music of Gilbert & Sullivan to life.

This Anniversary Concert is not only a fundraiser but is also in memory of Harry and Gwen Hurst as their son, Tim Hurst-Brown, is one of the singers. We are planning that this Concert launches an Organ Fund for a new organ dedicated to this couple who were so dedicated in their work and ministry at St Paul's for many, many years.
