Music in Lyddington presents Stringfever - CANCELLED

Coming from a family of musicians it was always likely that the Broadbent boys were going to follow their fathers into the music profession. Giles and Ralph studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Graham at the Royal College. Giles went on to play lead violin for several West End shows. In 2004, their Youngest brother Neal was due to study cello at the Guildhall School of Music...but instead he was kidnapped by his brothers to be the cellist in the new group Stringfever!

Deanery Briefing Programme - Moving on from the Lockdown …. the Theological Perspective

After coping with the effects of being isolated and, for many, changes to their jobs and financial situation or new working practices there seems to be a shift in the way folk view life. There seems to be a greater appreciation of the things that make life worth living.

The Covid-19 restrictions and the resulting lockdown has both constrained and provided new opportunities for our mission and ministry. Many churches and deaneries have been creative in the way they have provided worship and ministry that has touched folk far beyond their parish or deanery.

  • How do we build on these relationships and what is that we can offer to make the most of these new opportunities?
  • What can we do to nurture these new contacts and continue to minister to our existing church communities in a post lockdown era?
  • What can we glean from scripture and then what practical steps can we take?
Lindsay will reflect on the theological perspective of the responsibility to be agents for engagement with the communities we have touched and are touching as we emerge into a new era of our mission and ministry after the Covid-19 limitations.

There will be opportunity for questions and discussion with Lindsay.

A 10 day Pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine

Following in the Footsteps of Jesus led by The Rt Revd Donald Allister

I hope you can join me for my next Holy Land pilgrimage. I confidently expect that it will be:

  • exhilarating
  • exhausting
  • faith-building

For those who have been with me before, this pilgrimage will be different:

  • a full day longer with more activities
  • two bases instead of three
  • starting with Jerusalem and the south, finishing with Galilee and the north

For those who have not been on such a pilgrimage, please note:

  • this is a Christian pilgrimage, and we will worship together, singing, praying, reading the Bible, and celebrating Holy Communion every day
  • you need to be physically fit, able to negotiate moderate hill walking, uneven surfaces, and many steps
  • we will be well fed with lovely Mediterranean / Middle Eastern food, but we cannot always guarantee to provide special diets.

We are limited to 50 pilgrims, so get your booking in quickly
