MGP: Autumn Training Day

The day is for all involved in bible teaching ministry of any sort – from preachers to bible study leaders, to Junior Church to pathfinder teachers.

Those of you who have been before will know that it's a great day, and very encouraging, and this year we are hugely privileged to have Paul Hancock, director of training for the Midlands Gospel Partnership, leading the day.

Paul will be helping us to think about 'How to Understand and Teach the bible' and that we will help us to think about this by working through 1 Samuel 17 (David and Goliath) through the day.

Refreshments provided please bring your own lunch

A 9 day Pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine

Following in the Footsteps of Jesus led by The Rt Revd Donald Allister

A pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a very special experience. My testimony, shared by many who have travelled with me before, is it that the bible comes to life in remarkable ways. In addition, today’s situation in Israel and Palestine, inseparable from the very complex history, is seen and experienced quite starkly.
We will have opportunities to meet, listen and talk to ordinary people as well as community and other leaders.

The pilgrimage is open to all. However, please bear three things in mind: first, we will be worshipping as Christians each day; second, a reasonable degree of fitness is needed, as we will have to do quite a bit of walking, including up hills and steps and on uneven rocky ground; third, although we will eat well with lovely Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, and the restaurants we use are very helpful and hospitable, it may not always be possible to meet every dietary requirement in the way you might be used to.

This won’t be a holiday, though it may well refresh those parts that holidays can’t reach.  It will be stimulating, deeply moving, perhaps emotionally exhausting. You will almost certainly be changed.

I hope you can join us.

+Donald
