Called to ministry contacts

The Revd Steve Benoy, Director of OrdinandsFor enquiries about ordained ministry, contact:

The Revd Steve Benoy, Director of Ordinands
Vocation and Formation Team Leader

Steve  is  the  first  port  of  call  for  you  if  you  think  you  may have  a  vocation to  ordination.  He  has  a  team  of  Assistant Directors  of  Ordinands,  parish  clergy  who  help  discern  vocation.  He keeps in touch with and supports our ordinands
training  at  various  colleges  and  courses,  and over sees arranging curacies.

As  Vocations  Team  Leader,  he  works  closely  in  discerning  vocations  with  our  Lay Vocations Officer, in the formation of new clergy with our Curate Training Officer and in encouraging young people to consider a life in ministry with our Young Vocations Officer.

He  is  based  at  Bouverie  Court  and  welcomes  the  opportunity  to  visit  clergy  new  in
post, as well as to speak generally about vocation & ministry on Sundays or at other parish events.

Revd Jenny Opperman

Revd Jenny Opperman, Lay Vocations Officer

Jenny  was  licensed  as  an  Lay  Pastoral  Minister  in 2006  and  subsequently  trained  for  ordination  in  2012.
She is the first port of call if you might value a conversation  about  vocation,  but  where  things  remain  fairly unfocussed.  She oversees a team of lay and ordained people  who  serve  as  Vocations  Advisers  dispersed around the  diocese  who assist her in this early exploration,  and  works  closely  with    the  Wardens  of  Lay Ministries  in  the  discernment  and  selection  of  those who feel called to  Licensed Lay Ministry.

 Revd Jema Ball

Young Vocations Officer, Revd Jema Ball

Jema  is  Associate  Vicar  of  the  Oundle  benefice  and gives  a  little  time  each  week  to  oversee  the  Young Vocations Team. (see overleaf).  Our vision is to see a
sustained  increase  in  the  number  of  young  people  in this  diocese  offering  their  gifts  and  skills  to  serve  the church.
