Curate Training - Year 1
Mission Project Planning
Revd Charlie Nobbs, Director of Mission
All curates are expected to undertake a mission project in their second year. This session is to help plan and pray for a suitable project in your context, and begin to work out how it will be accomplished. There will be an opportunity to hear how previous curates’ projects have worked out and what they learnt from the experience. By the end of the session, you will have a much clearer idea of what to do and how to start.
Preparation: the first stage in discerning your project is listening to God, to your context, to those around you. Before attending the day, please:
pray and listen to God – what are you being called to do?
ask your incumbent and other church members for ideas for your project
undertake one piece of research in the community (eg, a prayer walk)
ask at the school gate/pub/neighbours what are the needs of the area
ask the same of a community leader (head teacher, parish council member etc)
This simple preparation will provide the ‘raw material’ to work through the day.
Taking place at Bouverie Court NN4 7YD.
