Praying & Playing in Creation - Outdoor Church Conference

"Praying and Playing in Creation" is organised by the OWL (Outdoor Worship Leicestershire) Network.

Whether you are a regular Forest Church leader or just interested in exploring worship outside for the first time, join us for a family-friendly, low-tech, relaxed Outdoor Church Gathering. There will be opportunities to worship together and walk alongside our experienced workshop hosts in small groups.

Set in the beautiful grounds of Launde Abbey, we will pray and play as we worship our Creator God within creation; we will put into practise what we are learning; and we will share our own experiences, hopes and dreams as we seek to establish and develop outdoor Christ-centred communities.

The aims of the gathering are to:

·        Celebrate and share Outdoor Worship which is already established;
·        Support and encourage leaders of all ages within Outdoor Worshipping communities;
·        Inspire and birth new Outdoor Worshiping communities.

Confirmed workshop hosts include:

Rachel Summers – A Forest Church practitioner in Walthamstow and author of Wild Worship, Wild Lent and Wild Advent. Rachel wants to "...hold space to allow others to connect with creation" helping people find joy in finding God without walls and ceilings.

Sara Hargreaves – Sara co-leads Engage Worship, drawing from her experience in music, worship and youthwork. She is author of a number of books including Whole Life Worship and The Rest Is Worship. Sara is also a mum of two wonderful children and also runs a missional community in a park in Luton called Park Church.

Una Bentley – A qualified yoga teacher and therapist and key member of Maranatha Yoga.

Morna Simpson - A vicar and curate training officer within Peterborough Diocese with a passion for photography and seeing beauty within creation.

Marta Brothers – Curate in Peterborough Diocese with a wealth of understanding and experience of neurodiversity.

This is a ‘walking conference’, all sessions will happen outside in the grounds of Launde Abbey. Wheelchair accessible routes are available.
