Diocesan Synod
Every diocese has its own Diocesan Synod consisting of bishops, archdeacons, elected laity and elected clergy. Diocesan Synod has a varied and wide ranging role in the governance of the diocese. It considers matters affecting the Church of England in the diocese; it advises the diocesan bishop where requested to do so; it acts as a forum for debate of Christian opinion on matters of religious or public interest; it formulates diocesan policy on a wide range of issues; it deals with matters referred to it by General Synod. The Diocesan Synod can be attended by those who are a member of the Synod.

Diocesan Advisory Committee
The Diocesan Advisory Committee (the DAC) is a statutory diocesan committee appointed by the Bishop. It offers advice to Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) and the Chancellor of the Diocese and Archdeacons, in relation to proposed works and matters affecting church buildings, their contents and churchyards, having due regard to the role of a church as a local centre of worship and mission. It also advises on the care and development of church buildings more generally. All DAC can only be attended by those on the DAC Board.

Framing Your Stories with Revd Morna Simpson
This outdoor event is offered to anyone who would like to learn how to help others begin to share their stories. Morna will take you through a gentle and empowering method to identify your own faith stories and begin to shape them into a form that is true to your experience and also engaging to a listener. Morna is experienced in supporting people who have suffered trauma to find ways of telling their stories. The aim of the session will be to go through the process together in such a way that you could then help others through the process.
