The Northampton Historic Churches Trust offers grants to churches of all denominations in Northamptonshire for their "preservation, repair and maintenance, improvement, upkeep, beautification and reconstruction". Many of you will have supported the Trust through participation in Ride and Stride, and many others will have benefitted from grants. The Trust awards tens of thousands of pounds in grants to diocesan churches every year. We all know that being church is about people. However, many also love and value the buildings in which people meet and minister. They are special places in our communities and are also challengingly expensive to maintain.
Churches and individuals can join the Northampton Historic Churches Trust as a Friend for a small annual contribution. As a Friend, you will receive a copy of the Annual Report and can attend the annual celebration evening. Grants made to churches and chapels during the course of the year are marked by a Celebration Evening during July. This is an enjoyable time when members of the Trust have the opportunity of meeting representatives from the churches to which grants have been made. These representatives also have the opportunity of exchanging experiences which provides a source of encouragement in the challenging task of fund raising.
To become a Friend of the Trust, all you need to do is complete the relevant form as individual or a church and include a small subscription fee which helps to raise these vital funds to support churches.
Completed forms can be emailed to nuala.salter@peterborough-diocese.org.uk
or posted to: Peterborough Diocese, Bouverie Court, Unit 1, 6 The Lakes, Bedford Road, Northampton, NN4 7YD.
