Bishop John attends consecration of Bishop Titus

Bishop John attended the consecration of the Right Reverend Titus Howook Kim in Korea on Saturday 23 September at the National Youth Center of Korea.  Bishop Titus will serve as Bishop in the Diocese of Daejon in the Province of Korea and is one of the diocese linked to Peterborough.

In June 2011, at Peterborough Cathedral, a declaration of intent was signed by Bishop Donald and Bishop Paul (Primate of the Anglican Church of Korea and Bishop of Seoul). This has been the foundation for deepening friendship and discussions between the two dioceses.  Since 2016 the link has widened to include diocese of Busan and Dajeon. There are annual trips to and from Korea with bishops, priests and laity travelling both ways to share experiences, discuss mutual interests and establish parish links.  You can read about the most recent visit of the Link Committee to Peterborough which took place earlier this year here

Archbishop Justin asked Bishop John as the Acting Bishop of Peterborough to represent him at the congregation in recognition of the partnership between the Province of Korea and Peterborough Diocese saying 'these links are vital as they enable people to gain a real sense of what it means to be a Global Church'.
