Farewell to the Revd Steve Benoy

The Revd Canon Steve Benoy has announced that he will step down from his role as Bishop’s Chaplain at the end of October to take up the role of Team Rector of Risborough and Rector of St Mary’s & St Peter’s Risborough, in the Buckingham area of Oxford Diocese.  Steve joined Peterborough Diocese in 2002 as Vicar of Christ the King, Kettering, moving to the role of Director of Ordinands, Vocation and Formation in 2011 before taking on the role of Bishop’s Chaplain.

Steve has been discerning a move back to parish ministry for some time reflecting ‘For some while I have sensed a call back to parish life and this opportunity brings a real sense of drawing together many threads of ministry over the years in one place. Intriguingly, as well as that sense of calling onwards, it also brings me just a few miles from the very first place I lived in England. I am grateful to Bishop Debbie for her support and encouragement in taking this step.  I have enjoyed being part of the diocesan team and will remember with gratitude all my colleagues in Peterborough Diocese for our partnership in ministry over the years.”

We wish him every success in his new role.
