Meet your Safeguarding Team

The Safeguarding Team has seen some changes and expansion over recent months. Amie Freeman, Safeguarding Training Officer has recently been promoted to Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officer working with our Diocesan Safeguarding Officer Victoria Kellett. They have been joined by Pia Cammarata as our second Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officer and Louise McCabe as Safeguarding Administrator.

Pia joins us from a social work background, working for 18 years with children and families in family outreach, child protection, child exploitation, and adoption.  She says “I’m thrilled about joining the growing safeguarding team and getting to know and support clergy and Parish Safeguarding Officers in the Diocese."

Pia will work alongside Amie who has moved from her role as Safeguarding Training Officer to Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officer and together they will be responsible for supporting parishes and the Diocese with safeguarding activities, advice and guidance, to ensure that the Diocese of Peterborough continues to be a safe place to live, worship and work.

Louisa McCabe has also joined the team as Safeguarding Administrator. She joins us from a background in primary school teaching with nine years spent as a religious sister in the Order of the Holy Paraclete.  Louisa will be developing how we utilise the Parish Dashboard across the Diocese and will provide administrative support to the team.

Recruitment for the role of Safeguarding Training Officer is currently taking place with the plan to appoint someone in the next few months.
