Old Testament Studies Tutor

If you have a first-hand experience of ministry, as an ordained or licensed lay minister, and a demonstrable engagement with the theology and practice of ministry, this may be an attractive role.

The Old Testament Studies

This module explores the background to the Old Testament and its theology, through examination of particular texts in their historical, sociological and literary context and relates them to contemporary contexts, plus examining the importance of understanding the Old Testament in reading the New Testament.

Sessions will contain input, learning activity and examination of texts. In the final session participants will work in small groups on specific texts and present their findings. There are five taught sessions along with one group work/presentation session.

The 2026 teaching dates are:

Saturday 5 and 19 September
Saturday 3 October
(Venue to be confirmed)
