Rector of The Amelcote Benefice

The Amelcote Benefice of Cold Higham, Gayton, Pattishall and Tiffield.

We very much look forward to welcoming our new Rector.

Over the past five years, we have “grown into” our benefice, working together and supporting each other. We would like our Rector to build on the cohesion between our churches, making us relevant to local people’s concerns, and ready to respond to the needs in our communities. Our Rector will benefit from being in a lovely part of South Northamptonshire, living in a modern, well-equipped Rectory and serving a friendly benefice of four parishes within a compact geographical footprint. They will be ministering in four beautiful historic churches, all of which are Grade II* listed. There are dedicated churchwardens who attend to the spiritual and physical demands of these churches.

We would love to welcome someone who will:

  • Engage with our initiatives to connect with parents and children – whether in schools, services of worship, or through playgroups and collaborative events.

  • Be open to working with us to offer a variety of service types.

  • Be creative in bringing people together from different backgrounds in our villages.

  • Encourage us in initiatives for study groups, prayer breakfasts and reflective groups.

We would look to a new Rector to:

  • Be visible around the parishes and be supportive of community events.

  • Have a genuine interest in the church members, their families, their cares and joys.

  • Work with the PCC’s as teams utilising everyone’s abilities.

  • Be ready with new ideas for reaching out to our communities.

  • Use our licensed Reader and Lay Pastoral Minister in church and school.

We realise that with a working week of two days, plus Sundays, our new Rector has a limited amount of time. However, we can offer the wholehearted support of our Reader, Lay Pastoral Minister and other members of our congregations, who are keen to share in the ministry of the church.

The rewards will be seeing the churches grow as people encounter Jesus. We are really looking forward to meeting you.
